The Meditation on Land

This installation invites Chinese, Japanese and West Coast Aboriginal or Coast Salish people whose strong connection with nature lends itself to expressing affirmations for the earth.
Each cultural group is invited to create an affirmation, poetic or philosophical statement inspired by nature, written in their own language. Each group will have 3 of their contributions wood burned onto cedar planks. These will be mounted in various locations within the park - 3 planks - one from each cultural group, at any given time during the residency.
